Yes—when appropriate, I do prescribe hormone therapy as part of a broader, individualized care plan.
Hormones are not the starting point for everyone, and they are never treated as a one-size-fits-all solution. My approach is to first understand the bigger picture of your health—including your symptoms, history, lifestyle, and lab data when needed—then determine whether hormone therapy may be a helpful and appropriate part of your care.
For patients receiving prescription therapy through my practice, including hormone therapy, ongoing follow-up is required to support safe dosing, continuity of care, and thoughtful adjustments over time.
This practice is best fit for women who are looking for a more thoughtful, personalized approach to their health and are ready to look deeper at the root causes of their symptoms.
Many patients come to me dealing with concerns like fatigue, brain fog, hormone-related symptoms, sleep issues, mood changes, digestive concerns, stubborn weight changes, or simply feeling “off” and not like themselves.
This work is a good fit for those who are open to a comprehensive approach—one that may include lifestyle changes, targeted testing, and medical support when appropriate—and who value a steady, collaborative process over quick fixes.
Ami Swanson Wellness PLLC is a cash-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly.
By partnering directly with you rather than your insurance company, I’m able to offer more personalized, transparent care without many of the limitations that often come with insurance-based medicine.
Payment is due at the time of service. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
A superbill can be provided after eligible fee-for-service visits for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your individual insurance plan. Please note that membership fees are not eligible for superbills or insurance reimbursement.
Healing rarely happens in a single visit. The membership model allows for the time, consistency, and follow-up needed to make thoughtful adjustments and support real progress over time.
Rather than offering quick, one-time recommendations, this model creates space for a more personalized and ongoing relationship. It allows us to track patterns, review your response to treatment, adjust your plan as needed, and move forward in a more steady and supported way.
At the end of the 6-month membership, many patients transition into the Ongoing Membership for continued monitoring, support, and thoughtful plan adjustments.
For patients receiving prescription therapy through my practice, including hormone therapy, ongoing follow-up is required to support continuity of care, safe dosing, and appropriate monitoring.
If you are not on prescription therapy and do not need membership-level support, additional follow-up visits may be scheduled individually when appropriate.
No. Ami Swanson Wellness is not a primary care practice.
My role is to provide specialized functional and integrative care that complements—not replaces—your relationship with a primary care provider. I encourage all patients to maintain an established PCP for routine care, urgent concerns, imaging, and referrals.
If something falls outside the scope of my practice, I will let you know and help guide you toward the appropriate level of care when possible.
Lab testing costs are separate from visit fees unless otherwise clearly stated.
If you have had recent lab work, I’m happy to review it and determine whether anything additional is needed. In some cases, your previous labs may be sufficient. In other cases, more targeted testing may be recommended depending on your symptoms and goals.
When labs are recommended, I aim to be thoughtful and selective so testing is clinically useful and aligned with your care plan.
Care is offered through scheduled visits, with follow-up support depending on the level of care you are enrolled in.
Most communication happens during visits and through the secure patient portal, which allows for clear, organized communication and protects your privacy.
Telehealth visits are available for patients located in Iowa.
Grounded. Gentle. Empowering.
If you’re feeling exhausted, foggy, anxious, bloated, struggling with sleep, or stuck despite doing “all the right things” — your body is trying to tell you something.
And it deserves more than a one-size-fits-all solution.
